From 1990 to 1991, Advance Institute of Business contracted with Australian supermarket giant Woolworths in Cowra, NSW to streamline their night fill operations.
At that time, Woolworths refilled stock on their shelves after trading hours, to minimise disruption to customers.
The project entailed monitoring sales of all items in the store, and ensuring that the right amount of stock was purchased on a daily basis so that the stock never ran out, but also that there was not too much stock sitting unsold.
The project also involved ensuring there were sufficient staff to efficiently maintain the shelf stock levels, and that the staff were adequately trained to perform the tasks.
The project was successful, and the store increased profits and also increased the number of staff employed.
This was just one of many organisations that Advance Institute of Business has partnered with in Australia and China.
