In 1998, Advance Institute of Business General Manager Craig Hill took on the role of Quality Assurance Manager at the construction site of the new racecourse in Goulburn, NSW, under the supervision of H & C Schuster Engineering (now Schuster Windows and Doors).
The role entailed creating and implementing the quality standards to be used on the job, and achieving quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures.
This also included such things as supervising the 60+ staff working on the project, monitoring and recording daily weather conditions, extracting concrete samples for testing and performing soil particle analysis.
The $4.5 million construction project came in six months ahead of schedule and $500,000 under budget.
