Between 1998 and 1999, Advance Institute of Business General Manager Craig Hill was Area Coordinator of Red Cross Calling in Goulburn, NSW. Red Cross Calling conduct the annual doorknock appeal throughout Australia, and the Goulburn branch was charged with overseeing this in the Goulburn region.
Red Cross Calling is the biggest single fundraising event which Red Cross conducts and therefore it plays a major role in enabling the Red Cross to maintain and develop their level of service throughout the community.
Advance Institute of Business were able to use their extensive business network and contacts with other community organisations in the local area to ensure this was a success. It was publicised by flyers in letterboxes, posters in local businesses and newspaper, radio and television interviews.
The local doorknock was very successful, attracting over 100 volunteers and raising over $15,000 in the local area.
This was just one of many community service organisations that Advance Institute of Business have been involved with throughout Australia and internationally.
